Denise’s account
The warning she carried
Long before she wrote Red Amaryllis, Denise said she had been shown something she could not forget. What follows is her account, as she recorded it in the book. It is attributed to her, not asserted here as fact.
She wrote it as a reluctant witness, not a prophet: someone who hadn’t asked for any of this, and said so, plainly, in her own words.

In her words
Darlington · 28 August 1985
“You are looking at the future. Nuclear war is coming if the world does not change the course it is on, and it will affect every single person on the planet as well as those who are to come in future generations. From where I am, we can see the past, the present and the future, but we can’t change what is coming; we can only warn you.
… Your journey will be long and difficult, but we will be here to help you.”
